No file handy?

No account needed for your first conversions. We never store your bank login.

This PNC CSV to QBO converter turns the spreadsheet you download from PNC Online Banking into a real .qbo Web Connect file that QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop import as a bank feed. PNC lets you export activity to Quicken (.qfx), QuickBooks (.qbo), or a comma-delimited spreadsheet, but the direct .qbo download and the live feed both break often, and QuickBooks Desktop cannot import a raw CSV at all. Upload your PNC CSV above and you get back a clean .qbo, plus Excel and CSV copies, with every transaction total checked against your original file before it exports.

It works with the spreadsheet export from PNC Business Checking, Analysis Business Checking, Treasury Enterprise Plan accounts, and PNC business credit cards, as well as personal PNC Virtual Wallet checking and credit card activity. Date, description, and amount columns are detected automatically, so you skip the strict column mapping QuickBooks Online forces on a raw CSV upload.

PNC CSV to QuickBooks: three ways to do it

The converter gives you the reliable middle path: a properly built .qbo that both versions of QuickBooks read, without depending on a healthy PNC connection or fighting the CSV mapping wizard.

MethodWorks with QuickBooks OnlineWorks with QuickBooks DesktopBest for

A real .qbo file QuickBooks accepts

Built for the CSV and Excel exports US banks and cards actually send, checked before it exports.

Reconciliation

Every total checked against your file

The converter adds up the transactions it parsed and matches that to your file total before you export, so nothing is silently dropped.

Web Connect

A genuine .qbo, not a renamed CSV

Valid OFX 1.02 with QuickBooks Web Connect headers. Online and Desktop import it as a standard bank feed.

Column mapping

Your columns mapped automatically

Date, description, and amount are detected for you, so you skip QuickBooks' strict 3-column and 4-column CSV layout.

Volume

A year of CSV files in one batch

Bulk upload for catch-up and cleanup work. Each file gets its own reconciliation check and its own exports.

Dates and amounts

Dates and amounts fixed for you

Mixed date formats, currency symbols, and stray commas that break a raw CSV import are cleaned up before the .qbo is built.

Exports

Excel and CSV in the same download

One conversion, three files: the .qbo for QuickBooks, an XLSX to review, and a CSV for everything else.

How to convert your CSV to QuickBooks

Three steps. No column-mapping wizard.

1

Upload your CSV or Excel file

Drag in a CSV, XLS, or XLSX export from your bank, credit card, or accounting tool. Any column order is fine.

2

Review the reconciled rows

Every transaction is parsed and checked against your file total. You see the rows before exporting.

3

Import into QuickBooks

Download the .qbo and import it as a Web Connect bank feed. Excel and CSV are in the same download.

How do I convert a PNC CSV file to QBO?

Sign on at pnc.com, open the account, and download the activity as a comma-delimited (CSV) spreadsheet for the date range you need. Upload that CSV to the converter at the top of this page. It detects the date, description, and amount columns, checks the parsed total against your file, and hands back a .qbo you import into QuickBooks. QuickBooks Online reads the .qbo directly, and QuickBooks Desktop imports it through Bank Feeds, so the same file works in either version.

How do I download a CSV from PNC?

On pnc.com, open the account and use the activity download to save a comma-delimited (CSV) file rather than the Quicken or QuickBooks option. The quick activity export only reaches back about 90 days, so for a longer history go to My Account, click Activity, open the Online Statements link, choose Activity Detail, set the date range, and export. That path lets you pull well over a year of PNC transactions in one CSV.

Why does PNC only let me download the last 90 days?

PNC's standard activity download is capped at roughly the last 90 days, which is not enough when you are catching up several months of bookkeeping. The workaround is the Online Statements, Activity Detail export, which reaches back much further. Once you have that longer CSV, convert it to a .qbo here so the whole history imports into QuickBooks as one clean bank feed instead of a dozen 90-day pieces.

Why is PNC not downloading transactions into QuickBooks?

PNC bank feeds stall regularly, and in early 2026 many accounts stopped downloading with no error shown at all, usually traced to expired access tokens on PNC's side. Reconnecting sometimes fixes it, but transactions can silently stop while your books look up to date. Downloading a PNC CSV and converting it to a .qbo gets every transaction into QuickBooks without waiting for the feed to be repaired.

Can QuickBooks Desktop import a PNC CSV file?

No, QuickBooks Desktop cannot import bank transactions from a raw CSV file. Desktop only imports a Web Connect .qbo through Banking, then Bank Feeds, then Import Web Connect Files. That is why converting your PNC CSV to a .qbo first is the reliable route for Desktop users, since it produces the one file format Desktop actually accepts.

My PNC accounts moved from FirstBank. Will the old connection still work?

No. After the FirstBank accounts moved onto the PNC platform in mid 2026, the old FirstBank connections stopped updating and you have to set up a fresh PNC connection. While you rebuild that link, or if it fails, download your PNC CSV and convert it to a .qbo so bookkeeping keeps moving. The converted file imports the same way regardless of which connection your account used before.

What CSV format does QuickBooks need for PNC transactions?

QuickBooks Online accepts a CSV with three columns (Date, Description, Amount) or four columns (Date, Description, Credit, Debit), in English, under 350 KB, with one consistent date format and plain numbers. PNC exports rarely match that exactly, and the sign on debits often trips the import. The converter reads the PNC layout as-is and outputs a .qbo, so you never have to reshape the columns or fix the signs by hand.

Is there a transaction limit when I convert a PNC CSV?

QuickBooks caps a single upload at 350 KB, which is roughly 1,000 transactions, so a long PNC Activity Detail export can fail when uploaded as a CSV. Converting to a .qbo and, where needed, splitting by month keeps each file inside that limit. The converter checks every batch against your file total, so nothing is dropped when you split a long PNC history across several files.

Does converting a PNC CSV keep my running balance?

The .qbo carries each transaction's date, description, and amount, which is what QuickBooks uses to build your register. PNC CSV exports do not always include a running balance column, and QuickBooks recalculates the balance from the imported transactions anyway. As long as every transaction comes through, your QuickBooks balance reconciles to your PNC statement.

Can I convert PNC business credit card CSV files too?

Yes. PNC business and consumer credit card activity downloads as a CSV the same way checking activity does, and the converter handles card exports, including split debit and credit columns. You get a .qbo that imports into the matching QuickBooks credit card account, so card charges and payments land in the right register.

Is the PNC CSV to QBO conversion accurate?

Convert your first file free.

Upload a CSV or Excel export, get a QuickBooks-ready .qbo back in seconds. No card to try it.

Yes, and the accuracy check is the point. Before the .qbo downloads, the converter adds up every transaction it parsed and compares that to the total in your PNC CSV. If a row is missing or misread, you see it in the preview instead of finding it during reconciliation. Working from a different bank?
